Intensive course as educational leave

Learn Spanish in an authentic language environment in Spain. The one to two week basic course for Spanish as a foreign language in Puerto de la Cruz or Costa Adeje (Tenerife) is aimed at anyone who would like to attend a language course tailored to their learning needs as part of an educational holiday and at the same time get to know the culture.

The course is taught by native Spanish speakers. All four linguistic skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are taken into account equally. In addition, participants in the language course have the opportunity to take advantage of many different leisure activities in order to get to know the country's culture.

Spanish is the native language of almost 400 million people and is the most commonly learned foreign language after English.

Puerto de la Cruz (North)

Puerto de la Cruz is a former fishing village that has become one of the most visited places in Tenerife due to its charm, friendly atmosphere and subtropical climate. Above the city lies the green and fertile Orotava Valley.

In addition to beautiful beaches (Playa Jardín and Martiánez), Puerto de la Cruz offers attractions such as the Botanical Garden, Loro Park and the lush Taoro Park.

Our partner school in Puerto de la Cruz is equipped with 8 air-conditioned rooms, a sun terrace and a gym to offer you every comfort during your study breaks.

Costa Adeje (South)

The municipality of Adeje is located in the southwest of the island. The mild temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees make the region a year-round holiday paradise. Costa Adeje is equipped with a variety of hotels, bars, restaurants and nightclubs and offers entertainment for all ages. In addition to the diverse offering, tourists also appreciate the beautiful sandy beaches and the landscape, which invite you to relax during the day.

Flexible course start: every Monday of the year (exception: course starts for beginners without previous knowledge every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month)
Uniform course levels: The course levels are based on the European Reference Framework (A1-C2). For classification purposes, we offer a language test upon arrival.
Effective teaching methods: Our local partner school offers a unique, communication-oriented teaching method that challenges the students and makes them fun at the same time.
Trained teaching staff: All language teachers are native speakers and have a university degree and at least 5 years of teaching experience. Each of them has developed an individual method to make learning languages fun and exciting for students.

Recognized educational leave

The Spanish intensive course is recognized as educational leave in the following federal states:

Hamburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lower Saxony, Hesse, Berlin, Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Saarland, Bremen and Thuringia.

Course details, timetable, learning objectives

The course type is an intensive 30 course, which includes 30 teaching units per week (one teaching unit is 45 minutes). Classes take place Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (with 2 coffee breaks of 15 minutes each).
The beginners course starts every first and third Monday of the month.

Using a wide range of oral, written and listening exercises as well as grammar, phonetics and written language exercises, you will quickly find access to the Spanish language as a beginner or quickly expand your knowledge as an advanced learner. Vocabulary exercises and small role plays complement the program and ensure an entertaining and successful learning process that covers a variety of important topics.

Learning objectives according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages

Learning objectives A1 (“Elementary level I”): Participants can understand and use very simple everyday expressions and fulfill concrete needs, such as introducing themselves. Participants can participate in simple communication if the other person speaks slowly.

Learning objectives A2: (“Elementary level II)”: Participants can understand sentences and frequently used expressions, e.g. personal information or information about the family. Participants can exchange information and carry out routine tasks. You can describe their background and environment.

Learning objectives B1 (“Intermediate level I”): Participants can understand the main content of well-known topics such as work, school, leisure time, etc. You can easily find your way around when traveling through Spanish-speaking countries. Participants can express and describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes and goals and give short explanations about their personal plans.
